Bring food chains and ecosystems to life with the Sustain the Chain kit!

This kit includes all the resources required to carry out the Primary Connections^® (Australian Curriculum Version 9) teaching sequence for Year 4 (Biological Science) – Sustain the Chain. The teaching sequence is flexible and adaptable to classroom settings whilst the lessons plans, science journals, and resource sheets are free to download from the Primary Connections^® website.

• Exploring food chains and relationships within local ecosystems.
• Examining how food, water, shelter and predators influence populations through data collection and graph interpretation.
• Modelling the impact of introduced species on food chains and ecosystems.
• Investigating a real-world environmental challenge involving an introduced plant species.

Make Learning Fun

Students apply their understanding of habitats and ecosystems in a creative design challenge. Using their knowledge of local environments, they develop and present a solution or product for a classroom context, building both scientific understanding and communication skills.
