Abacus Science Kit - What's Great for Growth? (Year 6, Biological Science)

This kit includes most of the resources required to carry out the Primary Connections^® (Australian Curriculum Version 9) teaching sequence for Year 6 (Biological Science) – What's Great for Growth? The teaching sequence is flexible and adaptable to classroom settings whilst the lessons plans, science journals, and resource sheets are free to download from the Primary Connections^® website.

Student-centred Interactive Learning

In this sequence, students participate in hands-on investigations to explore how changes in physical conditions, such as temperature, light, and soil moisture, affect the growth and survival of living things. They apply their knowledge and findings to design a suitable habitat that meets the needs of a local plant or animal species.

The teaching sequence is structured across eight lessons, with each lesson focusing on a specific topic:

Students can work individually, in small groups, or as a class to discuss their investigations, evaluate their findings, and reflect on their learning.
