Plastic Cubes

Our interlocking plastic cubes are easy to connect, fun to play with, and are ideal for teaching students’ fundamental mathematics concepts. This includes counting, sorting, patterns, addition, subtraction, multiplication, graphing and more!

The non-interlocking plastic cubes can be incorporated into random chance and probability experiments, assign place value units to the different colours, or simply practise counting and patterns, the possibilities are endless!

Plastic and Wooden MAB Units

The non-interlocking wooden and plastic cubes are referred to the MAB units.

MAB is a familiar base ten system, the structure of which lends itself primarily to teaching place value, but its applications are far reaching. Single units can also easily be applied to teach addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, number sense, and counting. When used in conjunction with MAB longs, flats and cubes, these MAB units are a key component of engaging base ten block assessments.

Use the MAB with our high-quality plastic Place Value Frame which features three compartments, perfectly sized to fit the units, longs, and flats. All three compartments have built-in number dials in the front with numbers ranging from 0-9.

Explore more ideas to make most from the MAB, check out Dr Paul Swan's Base Ten Blocks book. The book is packed with hands-on ideas to illustrate place value, decimals, fractions, percentages and more.
