What can you build?

Build a Simple Electric Circuit

Show students how electricity can create light.

Components Needed:

  • 1x Battery holder with batteries inserted (correct orientation)
  • 1x Bulb holder with bulb inserted or LED

How It Works

Electricity flows from the positive terminal through the bulb and back to the negative terminal, illuminating the bulb.

**Please note that if the LED flashing bulb doesn't light up, you'll need to swap the positive and negative wires.

Build a Switch-Controlled Circuit

Demonstrate how you can control the flow of electricity by adding a mechanical switch. Change the bulb to a buzzer to show how electricity can create sound.

Components Needed:

  • Simple circuit setup (as tab 1)
  • 1x Switch

How It Works

By adding a switch, you can control the flow of electricity and turn the bulb on and off. Swap different types of switches to observe how mechanical variations produce the same electrical effect. Replace the bulb with the buzzer to demonstrate how electricity can create sound as well.

Build a Motor-Driven Circuit

Show students how electricity can generate mechanical drive.

Components Needed:

  • 1x Motor, pulley, and holder
  • 1x Battery holder
  • 2x Wires

How It Works

Replace the bulb or buzzer with a motor to show how electricity can drive motion. Attach paper propellers or a small string around the pulley for a more visual demonstration of the motor running.

Handy Storage box

The items in a single Electric Circuit Kit fit neatly back into the transparent storage container provided. Made from durable plastic, with clip lid, the box can be safely stowed in the classroom or home for future use.

The Electric Bulk Kit is packed in a Gratnells Tray with lid. The items within the kit are packed in smaller compartment trays for neat and convenient storage.

This is an excellent starter electricity kit. Easy to set up and lots of different bulbs, switches, attachments etc. Definitely worth the $30 rather than trying to piece together a bunch of things yourself. I also purchased additional bulb holders and bulbs so we could create a parallel circuit as this only really let's you make a series circuit. I would suggest offering a slightly larger electricity kit that can accommodate for parallel circuits too :-)
