Description / Tricky Word Bingo
In this game, ‘tricky words’ are defined as those that cannot be sounded out phonetically and must be learned through other ways. And what better - and more fun - way to learn these tricky words than through bingo?
Since bingo requires the players to quickly sound out and recognise these words, it’s the perfect game for learning tricky words by heart.
Play Learning Rules
- Each player takes a bingo board
- Another person is the caller
- The caller takes a tricky word at random and announces it to the players
- The first player to have a matching square on their board claims that tricky word and places it over the correct square
- The winner is the first player to cover their entire board and call out ‘BINGO!’
