A half-scale model of the human skeleton allows students to familiarise themselves with basic anatomy, minus the intimidation factor that comes with examining a full-scale skeleton.
Despite its smaller size, the proportions are accurate, and the main bones and joints are clearly defined. The main joints are movable, allowing the teacher to demonstrate how they work in practice.
The skeleton can be used as a reference for discussions/exams on the different bones in the human body. Art students in higher grades can use the skeleton to approximate bodily proportions as they create their own interpretations of the human body.
