Push and pull spring scales are used to measure both weight and the force of an object.
Easy-to-use
Calibrated in grams, for use weighing objects up to 500g, and Newtons, to measure force. There’s a clear, flat area on the rod – here you can use a dry wipe marker to create your own scales. The hook on the end of the scales allows you to attach the object to be weighed.
Scales have a multitude of uses in the classroom. Spring scales are particularly helpful for introducing children to a different method of weighing that they might not have seen before. Weight measurement, and the identification of different units, is a key area of the Australian Curriculum.
