Blends are much easier to remember when they’re associated with familiar things - a concept that underpins the design of these blend objects.
Children can easily recognise these objects, making them perfect for teaching blends such as ‘cr’ (as in ‘crab’), ‘st’ (as in ‘star’), ‘br’ (as in ‘brush’) and so on.
They’re made of magnetic foam, so the pieces can be stuck on magnetic whiteboards for illustrative and classroom purposes.
Learning ideas
Give the student any single one of the objects, and ask them to name it. Then, ask them to stick the object onto their magnetic whiteboard, write the name of the object beside it using a whiteboard marker and underline the blend in the name.
