Assorted Bead Strings Class Set

Bead strings are a reliable resource when it comes to teaching a wide variety of mathematics topics. You can cover the basics, like counting and number sense, through to more challenging ideas like place value, and fractions.

This class set contains 30x student bead strings (20 beads each), and 6x bead strings (100 beads each), a teacher bead string (100 beads) and a Beadstring Mathematics book by Dr Paul Swan which will allow you to clearly demonstrate ideas to the class. All components pack neatly into a Gratnells shallow tray with lid, a durable storage container for frequent use.

This book is designed to assist teachers using bead strings and rekenreks to help students to learn number concepts.

Resources can easily be shared round to provide students with independent problem-solving tasks. The set also lends itself to class demonstrations, whereby everybody could work through the same activity card together. Topics covered could include basic arithmetic, greater/less than, place value, compliments, rounding, fractions, percentages, ratios, and many more.
