Phase 2 Decodable Readers

After developing phonemic awareness, young readers must be introduced to Letter Sounds. Abacus’ Phase 2 Decodable Readers cover the first 21 letter sounds, follow a letter-by-letter progression in the lessons, and incorporate ‘tricky words’ to help students get used to complex spellings and readings as early as possible.

Our Phase 2 Decodable Readers tackle a wide range of topics, including but not limited to diversity, the sciences and fictional stories. The readers are packed with colourful illustrations not only to keep your students interested, but also to allow them to make visual associations between what they are reading and the images they see.

You can purchase sets of 12 or complete kits. The kits include activity pages and game materials as well as the readers themselves. All of the readers are colour-coded to make them easier to organise and put away inside and outside of the classroom.
