The Competition

The Competition is a Game of Skill which Eligible Entrants can enter by providing the required Entrant Details and Entry Resources via the Competition Page. The Judge(s) will judge Eligible Entries and nominate Winner(s) who will be offered the Prize as a reward for winning the Competition.  

Eligible Entrants

Only Eligible Entrants can enter the competition. In order to be considered an Eligible Entrant, you must be an Australian resident aged 18 or over.
 

Ineligible Entrants

The following people cannot be Eligible Entrants and shall therefore not be permitted to enter the Competition:

  • Employees or family members of the Organiser
  • Anyone else helping to set up, or operate, or connected in any way with the Organiser or the Competition

Costs and Fees

There are no costs and/or fees to enter the Competition other than the cost paid by the Eligible Entrant to their internet service provider for the internet access required to access The Competition Page.

The Competition Page

Prospective Entrants can access the Competition Page directly by entering the URL displayed above into the relevant search field of their preferred browser or via any other link that directs to the Competition Page, whether it is through an advertisement, social media post or otherwise.

How to Enter

In order to enter the Competition, on the Competition Page, Prospective Entrants must successfully:

  • a) enter the required Entrant Details; and
  • b) upload the required Entry Resources.

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email Address
  • School Name
  • Year Level


Entry Resources

One or multiple photos of the Eligible Entrant’s “Classroom Shop” setup.

Please note that it is a strict rule of the Competition that students may not appear in Entry Resources. Even when/if permission may have been granted by parents or guardians, the Organiser will not accept any Entry Resources featuring students faces or any other discernible characteristics. The Organiser reserves the right to render such Entries ineligible immediately.

What is a “Classroom Shop” Setup

Whether you are using the “My Classroom Shop” kit sold by Abacus Educational Suppliers or already have an existing classroom shop setup, your classroom shop setup can be anything you use to teach, practise and/or roleplay money scenarios with students.

This can include but is not limited to Money Sets, Cash Registers, Calculators, Counters, Bucket Balances, Sorting Trays, etc.

Eligible Entries

For entries to be considered an Eligible Entry, the provided Entrant Details and Entry Resources must be approved by the Organiser.

All Entrant Details and Entry Resources must conform with minimum quality standards and must not be offensive in any way. The approval of Eligible Entries lies at the sole discretion of the Organiser.  


Entry Period

All Eligible Entries must be received between 9am AWST on February 1st and 11:59pm AWST on Friday June 30th 2023. The Organiser accepts no responsibility for entries that were not received for whatever reason. 

Limitations

A single Classroom Shop Setup can only be represented in the Entry Resources of a single Eligible Entry that is entered by a single Eligible Entrant. 

It is not allowed for multiple Entrants to create an Entry for the same Classroom Shop Setup.

It is not allowed for a single Entrant to create an Entry for multiple Classroom Shop Setups.

A single Entrant may not enter the Competition with multiple Email Addresses and/or School Names. 

The Judge(s)

The Organiser has nominated the following Judge(s) to judge Eligible Entries entered in the Competition:

Mr Steve Breen, who is the Former president of WAPPA (Western Australian Primary Principals Association)

Time of Judging

Judging will take place on the 12th of July 2023, between 8.30am and 4.30pm AWST in Osborne Park, WA.

The Judging Process

All Eligible Entries will be judged by The Judge(s).

The Judging Process, judging methods, criteria and nomination(s) of Winner(s) are at the sole discretion of the Judge(s). Judge(s) decisions are final and Entrants have no recourse.

The Winner(s)

The Judge(s) will nominate the Winner(s) at the Time of Judging.

Winner(s) Notification

The Organiser will notify The Winner(s) via email within 2 days of the Judge(s) nomination. The Winner(s) must respond directly to the notification email in order to be eligible to claim the prize. 

Claim Period

If, despite reasonable efforts, the Organiser is unable to establish contact with the Winner(s) within 21 days of the initial notification via email, the Organiser reserves the right to withdraw the Prize from the Winner(s).

In this case, the Prize will be awarded to the next-best Eligible Entry and Winner as nominated by the Judge(s), and so on.

The Organiser cannot be held responsible if timelines are not met due to any circumstances out of the control of the Organiser, for example untimely response from the Winner(s).  

The Prize

The prize consists of a Voucher valued at a maximum total value of $500.00 AUD.

Prize Collection

Once contact has been successfully established with the Winner(s), The Prize will be delivered via email to a valid Australian email address specified by the Winner(s). 

The Organiser will not be held responsible for any consequential loss or misappropriation of The Prize due to incorrect specification of prize delivery details by the Winner(s).

Decisions are Final

The Organiser’s decisions in respect of all matters to do with the Competition will be final. The Organiser is not expected to enter into any additional correspondence outside the framework of the Competition.

Intellectual Property

Eligible Entrant(s) agree to the Organiser’s reasonable use for promotional purposes of Entrant Details and Entry Resources supplied as part of the Competition.

Any personal data relating to Eligible Entrant(s) or as part of any Eligible Entry will only be used solely in accordance with current Australian data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to third parties without the Eligible Entrant(s) prior consent.

The Winning Entry may also be displayed on https://www.abacused.com.au/ for promotional purposes.

All data submitted or collected can be used by the Organiser for promotional material without any further consent than the present terms.


Third Party Conditions

This Competition may be promoted through third-party websites such as Google, Facebook, Instagram, etc.

By entering this Competition, Eligible Entrants may be subject to the Terms and Conditions of any Third Parties.

The Competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with Google, Facebook and/or Instagram.

Entrants are solely responsible and liable for the content of their Entries and any other information they transmit to other Internet  users. To the extent permitted by law, each Entrant agrees to indemnify, defend and forever hold harmless, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, its associated agencies and companies and the Organiser, against any and all losses, actions, claims, costs, expenses and damages (of any nature) which may be incurred by an Entrant in respect of the Entrant’s participation in the Competition. Any questions, comments or complaints about the Competition must  be directed to the Promoter, and not to Twitter, Facebook or  Instagram.

Implicit agreement

By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
